KSUM Startup WellnessLoka Connects Belgian Princess to Authentic Ayurveda Retreat in Kerala

Kochi: Highlighting the growing role of startups in connecting global wellness travellers with Kerala’s Ayurveda ecosystem, WellnessLoka, a wellness travel platform incubated at the Kerala Startup Mission, recently facilitated an Ayurveda retreat in the state for Princess Françoise of Chimay of Belgium, wife of Prince Philippe de Caraman-Chimay.

The Princess had been in Kerala for a two-week Ayurveda wellness programme, seeking an authentic, doctor-led treatment experience rooted in the state’s traditional healing practices.

The visit reflects how WellnessLoka is helping international travellers discover trusted Ayurveda experiences in Kerala.

WellnessLoka: Enabling Travellers to Discover Suitable Ayurveda Centres

WellnessLoka, a KSUM Unique ID startup and wellness travel platform with a network of more than 200 Ayurveda resorts and hospitals, helped identify and facilitate the right Ayurveda retreat for the Princess and her friend based on their preferences and wellness requirements.

The WellnessLoka platform enables travellers to discover suitable Ayurveda centres based on treatment goals, budget, location preferences, and medical specialisations.

It also assists in coordinating consultations with experienced Ayurveda doctors and practitioners to ensure that guests receive personalised treatment guidance.

Through its curated network, WellnessLoka supports guests throughout their wellness journey by assisting with coordination between travellers and Ayurveda institutions, ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience during their stay.

According to officials at the Kerala Startup Mission, the visit highlights the increasing global trust in Kerala’s centuries-old Ayurveda tradition and demonstrates how innovative startups such as WellnessLoka are helping bridge the gap between international wellness seekers and authentic treatment centres in the state.

Founded in Kerala, WellnessLoka has already supported wellness travellers from around 28 countries, along with guests from across India, in discovering and booking suitable Ayurveda retreats in the state.

By simplifying the process of identifying credible treatment centres, WellnessLoka is making traditional healing experiences more accessible to a global audience.

The initiative also showcases how startups emerging from Kerala’s innovation ecosystem are strengthening the state’s reputation as a leading global destination for Ayurveda and wellness tourism.

Through such platforms, international visitors are increasingly able to connect with authentic treatment experiences rooted in Kerala’s traditional medical heritage.
